AssetML defines an xml file that lets application developers use it as a resource database.

The idea is to be have a way to search content on your hard drive with metadata (like name, category, file type, description) instead of just a file name. This way, users can browse content easier and developers can share content easier.

Assetml categories

In order to achieve the reusability goal of assetml, we need to pre-define category names. Category names are used in assetml when a user wants to search a content in its base.

Categories are formatted with names separated by ; like audio;voices;geography. Values are not ordered.
