SkoleLinux (
http://www.skolelinux.org, http://www.skolelinux.de) is a project to develop and maintain a custom Debian GNU/Linux distribution for schools (as such it is now becoming/being merged with debian-edu).
It is simple to install and to maintain, and it is based on locale languages. It contains many specific education oriented applications, as well as generic applications taught in shools (like wordprocessors, spreadsheet, typing tutor ...). It also provide all the infrastructure to support education (student management, application management, light terminals management ...)
OFSET participation in SkoleLinux is mainly to help the spread of its use, by furthering its interationalization (i18n) and localisation (l10n), translation of the specific management applications, translation and composition of tutorials and manuals. When appropriate we also participate to its development.
This wiki is used to write down technical notes and other relative informations. When appropriate it is integrated in the official Skolelinux admnistrator guide.
