GvR stands for Guido van Robot which is a new programming language intended for instructional purposes. It is written in Python, and aims to be a Pythonic improvement of Karel the Robot.
At this point, you are probably asking yourself, What is GvR, specifically? The gist of it is that it is a robot represented by a triangle on the screen that moves around in a world made up of streets and avenues, walls and beepers, which Guido can collect or set. His actions are completely guided by a program written by the user.
Please visit the website for more information and screenshots.
I'm planning a short presentation of GvR (15 min) explaining the current state of the project (stable), and the benefits of GvR in education. The focus will be on using GvR in schools not on the technical issues of the project.
